Scott Michel enters his seventh year at Kalamazoo College in 2009-10. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he received his bachelor’s in sports medicine from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. From there, he went on to receive his master’s in athletic training from Western Michigan University, while doing his graduate assistant rotation at Kalamazoo College. Prior to re-joining the K community, Scott worked at Mercyhurst as an athletic trainer for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and men’s lacrosse.
Scott oversees the daily operations of two athletic training facilities and the medical coverage of all athletic events. In addition to serving as the head athletic trainer, Scott teaches a Care and Treatment of Injuries course at Kalamazoo College and chairs the medical coverage for the USTA Junior National Tennis Championships.
Scott and his wife, Heather, reside in Kalamazoo with their daughter Maelyn.

Megan
Hass, M.S., ATC
Megan Hass joined the Kalamazoo College athletic
training staff in the fall of 2006 as assistant
athletic trainer.
From 2004-06, Megan worked as a graduate assistant
athletic trainer with the women's cross country
and track teams at the University of Arkansas
while completing her master's degree in health
science. She also taught a Care and Prevention
of Athletic Injuries course.
Megan completed her undergraduate degree in athletic
training in 2004 at Otterbein University. While
at Otterbein, she worked as a student athletic
trainer for the football, basketball, soccer,
tennis and cross country teams. She also completed
an internship with the Columbus Stars, a UHL hockey
team.
Originally from North Olmsted, Ohio, Megan now
resides in Kalamazoo.

Marci Vasaris
Marci Vasaris joined the Kalamazoo College athletic training staff in the fall of 2009. She is currently attending Western Michigan University’s Graduate Athletic Training Program and working towards her master’s degree in exercise and sports medicine with an athletic training emphasis. While enrolled in this program, Marci has the privilege of completing her gradate assistant clinical rotation at Kalamazoo College. Throughout this two year position, she will have the opportunity to work with a variety of sports including volleyball, cross country, basketball, swimming and diving, softball, and soccer. Marci plans to complete her master’s degree and graduate from WMU in 2011.
In April 2009, Marci graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. While at IWU, she had the opportunity to work as an athletic training student with the men’s and women’s cross country, women’s softball, and men’s soccer teams as well as the freshman, JV, and varsity football teams at Oak Hill High School in Converse, Ind.
Marci is originally from Jackson, Mich., and now resides in Kalamazoo. |
